Chitkara University has entered into a strategic international partnership with Saint Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation (SUAI), Russia, through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing collaboration in the fields of aerospace engineering, robotics, artificial intelligence, and innovation-centric education. The MoU was signed by Dr. Saurav Dixit, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research), Chitkara University, during an official visit to SUAI, marking a significant step toward expanding the university’s global academic and research network.

During the visit, Dr. Dixit had the opportunity to meet with SUAI’s esteemed leadership, including Rector Yulia Antokhina, Vice-Rector for Educational Technologies and Innovation Activity Sergey Solenyi, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Technological Development Nikolay Mayorov, Director of the FPTI Institute Elena Frolova, Head of the International Cooperation Department Yulia Makarova, and Associate Professor Kirill Epifantsev. The engagement focused on creating a platform for meaningful academic cooperation and knowledge exchange between the two institutions.

The discussions paved the way for joint research projects, student and faculty exchange programs, and academic initiatives that focus on cutting-edge technologies and multidisciplinary learning. Special emphasis was placed on the application of artificial intelligence in aerospace and robotics and the need for globally relevant curricula to nurture talent for next-generation industries. The SUAI leadership also shared their insights from the Indo-Russian Flying Robotics competitions held in 2020–2021, where Indian students successfully participated remotely in programming unmanned aircraft systems—a testament to the potential of collaborative, cross-border learning.

The MoU signifies Chitkara University’s ongoing commitment to building international bridges that promote innovation, experiential learning, and global competence among students and faculty. As part of this partnership, both institutions will work together to explore research opportunities, organise academic events, and create new learning pathways that integrate practical and theoretical dimensions of aerospace technologies.

This collaboration underscores Chitkara University’s forward-looking vision of preparing students to thrive in globally interconnected and technology-driven environments. With this new alliance, the university further reinforces its role as a hub of academic excellence and research innovation, offering students unparalleled exposure to international best practices and the future of aerospace and AI education.
