Chitkara University and Jhansla School Mark World Nature Day with Creative Competitions
Chitkara University,in collaboration with Gov. Sr. Sec. School, Jhansla, celebrated World Nature Day with an inspiring “Best Out of Waste” and Slogan Writing Competition. This event, driven by the enthusiasm of NSS volunteers, aimed to foster environmental awareness and encourage students to engage in creative activities that emphasise sustainability. The event was a reflection of the university’s commitment to its adopted village and the broader cause of nature conservation.
World Nature Day is a reminder of their shared responsibility to safeguard the environment. In line with this theme, the competitions encouraged participants to express their creativity while promoting eco-consciousness. Studentspenned powerful slogans urging everyone to rethink their daily habits and reconsider the impact of human activity on the planet. Through their words, they became the advocates for environmental protection, calling for immediate and thoughtful action.
The “Best Out of Waste” competition was another highlight of the event. Students transformed discarded items like cardboard, newspapers, and plastic into functional and artistic pieces, including vibrant flower pots and reusable bags. These creations showcased their dedication to reducing waste and inspired others to see value in what might otherwise be considered trash.
