Chitkara University has adopted ‘Five Nearby Villages’ under project ‘Punjab Arises’

“We rise by lifting others” as quoted by “Robert Ingersoll” and taking the lead under CSR, Chitkara University has adopted “Five Nearby Villages” under project “Punjab Arises”. Chitkara University has adopted five villages in Rajpura tehsil of Patiala district under project of Punjab Arises. The names of the adopted five villages are Jansla, Thuha, Ramnagar, Kalo Majra and Fatehpur Garhi.

Visit of forest dept. along with C.U representatives was organised for tree plantation and beautification of the villages. Then tree plantation drive was taken up at Govt.High School, Jansla. The team organised visits in Govt. Schools for raising the bar of education. “Robotics workshop” for Govt. School children was another effort in which the team conducted practical sessions for students to gain hands on experience in field of science and technology. Along with this, health awareness programs have become a regular feature in Govt. schools of these adopted villages.

Sarpanches of the villages were invited to the university to discuss their problems and how Chitkara team could contribute in bringing revolution in the villages. Sarpanches were also told about the skill development programs run by the university for the upliftment of youth of these adopted villages. The university sports board is regularly organising volleyball, football and matches for other games for young boys of adopted villages and students on campus to inculcate the sportsmanship spirit.
