Chitkara University achieves high ranking in NIRF Rankings 2022, released by Ministry of Education

Chitkara University has once again achieved high rankings in the NIRF Rankings 2022. Chitkara University has been consistently ranked under various categories including Engineering, Pharmacy, Architecture, Management etc. Chitkara University has been ranked 20th in the list of ‘Top Pharmacy Institutions’, Chitkara College of Planning and Architecture has been ranked 22nd in the list of ‘Top Architectural Institutions’, Chitkara Business School has been ranked 80th in the list of ‘Top Management Institutions’. Chitkara University’s engineering program has also been ranked among ‘Top Engineering Institutions’ in the NIRF rankings 2022. The seventh edition of the National Institutional Ranking Framework or NIRF Rankings for Higher Educational Institutions in India was released by the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on July 15th, 2022.

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), which was introduced on September 29th, 2015, by the Honorable Minister of Human Resource Development, was approved by the MHRD. This framework lays out a methodology for ranking colleges and universities across the country. The methodology is based on the general recommendations and comprehensive understanding achieved by a Core Committee established by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) in order to define the broad factors for rating various colleges and institutes. “Teaching, Learning, and Resources,” “Research and Professional Practices,” “Graduation Outcomes,” “Outreach and Inclusivity,” and “Perception” are among the parameters. The ranking is prepared for 11 categories on the basis of subject domain and type of institution- Overall, Universities, Colleges Research Institutions, Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Medical, Dental Law and Architecture.

The Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR) includes Student Strength including Doctoral Students (SS), Faculty-student ratio with emphasis on permanent faculty (FSR), Combined metric for Faculty with PhD (or equivalent) and Experience (FQE) and Financial Resources and their Utilisation (FRU). IPR and Patents: Published and Granted (IPR), Footprint of Projects and Professional Practice (FPPP), Combined metric for Publications (PU), Combined metric for Quality of Publications (QP), and IPR and Patents: Published and Granted (IPR) are all included in research and professional practice (RP) (FPPP). Graduation Outcomes (GO) includes Metric for University Examinations (GUE) and Metric for Number of Ph.D. Students Graduated (GPHD). Outreach and Inclusivity (OI) includes Percentage of Students from Other States/Countries (Region Diversity RD), Percentage of Women (Women Diversity WD), Economically and Socially Challenged Students (ESCS), Facilities for Physically Challenged Students (PCS) and Perception (PR) Ranking. Peer Perception includes Academic Peers and Employers (PR).
