Chitkara School of Mass Communication bags overall trophy in Media Fest, 2020 at Chandigarh University

Chitkara University on November 27, 2020 won the overall trophy in TV News Reading and Film Review events and lifted overall trophy in Media Fest, 2020 that was hosted virtually by University Institute of Media Studies, Chandigarh University.

There were in total 8 events: Spill it out, News express, Paint 2020, Film your visions, Catch the glimpse, Laugh out loud, Jock-talk, and Industry expert session.
Many media students from various states like Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh participated in this media fest. More than 80 media Institutes/Departments took part in this fest.

Chitkara School of Mass Communication won 2 first prizes. Team of Diya Arora and Anika Sharma got first position in News Express event which was on TV news reading and reporting and they did story on closure of schools during Covid 19 pandemic. Whereas, Aashna got first prize on Film Review event in which she reviewed (on video) the film – Angrezi Medium. CSMC scored the highest marks which therefore, made them won the overall trophy in Media Fest.
Students of CSMC participated in all 8 events. The team was formed by all media school faculty.

In a conversation with Ashutosh Mishra, Dean of Chitkara School of Mass Communication, said that it is always nice to see students participating in different events and winning too. A sense of competition is developed by sending their entries in such festival, where others also come and display their talent. Adding to it, he mentioned that his students participated in all the 8 events and had worked hard despite confinement due to Covid. Lastly, he wished everyone good luck.
