Chitkara School of Mass Communication holds a five day workshop on Mobile Documentary

A Five day “Mobile Documentary Workshop” was held at the School of Mass Communication at the Rajpura campus of Chitkara University. The workshop provided a platform for the students of Chitkara to exchange their ideas and work closely with students from Finland.

A total of 27 students took part in the workshop, which included 9 students from Finland and 18 students from MAJMC II semester and BAJMC IV semester from the Chitkara School of Mass Communication (CSMC). The participants gathered interesting insights into the field of Mobile Documentary and learnt the nuances of making one over a time span of five days.

They worked on the varied set of themes based on “Women Centric issues”. The students produced 9 immaculate documentaries during the workshop. The students worked in three groups – one from Finland and two from CSMC and handled different function such as shooting, editing, voice over, etc. A similar workshop was conducted last year at CSMC, Chitkara University when the media faculty members of different Universities from Finland had visited the campus. The CSMC staff collaborated with the delegates from Finland to produce mobile documentaries and five such productions were released.

In the next phase, the students of Chitkara School of Mass Communication and its staff will be going to Finland for one such workshop in September this year.
