Chitkara School of Health Sciences hosted North Zone World Optometry Day

Chitkara School of Health Sciences, Chitkara University, hosted North Zone World Optometry Day. The event witnessed participation from Optometrist from Eye Hospitals, Optometrist from leading optical chains, Future Optometrist (Students of all optometric colleges of North zone) & Experienced and Senior Optometrists.

Various colleges like Aditya Jyot Institute Mumbai, CL Gupta School of Optometry, Moradabad, Jamia Hamdard University Delhi participated in the event as well. The event was celebrated in collaboration with Sankara Eye Institute Ludhiana, ASCO and OAC and was sponsored by renowned Brands like Bausch and Lomb and Rose K lenses. Prof P Sudharshan CEO, ASCO was the Chief Guest for the day. The first day of the event was followed by both scientific and cultural events; scientific part included the panel discussion by renowned personality’s i.e, Mr. Harjeet Singh (Governing board member of Indian Optometry Federation (IOF) for the third consecutive term), Mr.Narinder Mehta President of Punjab Ophthalmic Officer’s Association (POOA), Mr. Rajbir Singh Berwal State Auditor of sarv karamchari sangh, Haryana, State Convener of Health employees association, Haryana. And quiz competition hosted by Bausch and Lomb was won by Jamia Hamdard University Delhi. Followed by various cultural events like group dance, group song, skit, solo singing, solo dance by students of Chitkara University and other institution as well.

The second day of the event included the scientific part which comprised of Vision therapy the expert talk by Mr. Mantoo and team from Sankara Eye Institute Ludhiana, for the practitioners from PGI Chandigarh and other renowned institute, followed by the poster presentation on new techniques in the field of Optometry and case presentation.
