Chitkara College of Nursing organised a workshop on Neonatal Resuscitation Program

Workshop on Neonatal Resuscitation Program was organised by Chitkara College of Nursing by Dr Diljot Singh Bedi, Associate Consultant, Fortis Hospital, Mohali.

About 10% of neonates require assistance at birth to breathe, and about 25% of all neonates’ deaths are contributed to by birth asphyxia. To understand the process of Newborn Resuscitation, Chitkara College of Nursing organised hands-on a training workshop for B.Sc. Nursing students by Dr. Diljot Singh Bedi, Associate Consultant, Fortis Hospital Mohali. Dr. Harmeet Kaur Principal Chitkara College of Nursing and Mrs. Bandana Bisht Vice Principal, Chitkara College of Nursing welcomed the guest speaker. The workshop laid the emphasis on the physiology of birth, transitional changes at the birth, newborn life support measures, guideline changes, sequence of actions and drugs to enhance the process of resuscitation, were discussed with the set of examples.

Students were provided with teaching material on the same with emphasis on practicability related to life support and hence promoted the gems of knowledge among all.
