Chitkara Business School, Chitkara University students of the Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) participated in an International Training and Exposure program at AIT Extension Thailand. The training program, titled “Towards Sustainability—An ESG Journey for Management Students,” aimed to equip future business leaders with a comprehensive understanding of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks. This initiative prepares them to integrate critical principles of sustainable business practices into their professional endeavors, promoting inclusive education and lifelong learning.

This unique program, specially designed for the students of Chitkara University in India, marks a significant step towards fostering sustainable business practices and enhancing global competence. Over the course of this week, the program participants (30 students & 2 faculty members) engaged in interactive sessions, skills development workshops, and valuable networking opportunities with industry experts. Participants also had the opportunity to visit the SKL-Kubota plant, an agricultural equipment manufacturing industry leader, to understand the implementation of ESG metrics across the supply chain. They interacted with Kubota’s team leaders responsible for every aspect of the ESG framework, including reuse, zero-waste, and zero-burn solutions.

This program was designed by AIT Extension in collaboration with the PM-ESG (Professional Master’s in ESG) Program at AIT, jointly offered by the Yunus Center at AIT and the School of Management (SOM). Through this initiative, students are empowered to develop ethical leadership and critical thinking skills, contributing to sustainable learning practices that will benefit their communities and the global environment.
