Chankesh Rao wins second prize in photography at ‘Communis’ fest in Jallandhar

The budding journalists of various colleges of the state tested their acumens at media festival ‘Communis’, organised by Doaba College sponsored by PTC and BIG FM.

Chankesh Rao of BJMC II Year represented School of Mass Communication at Doaba College Jallandhar during the fest and won second position in photography competition. Our students bagged 4 prizes Chankesh Rao (Photography), Aditya Chandel (Create Your Story), Anmol Mehndiratta and Sanya Jain (Power Point Presentation) –all Second positions.

Jamimah Joseph stood third in Dubbing where as Documentary on hawker ( Akhbarwala) made by Sukhdeep Singh, Harneep Kaur, Dixit Angi and Saurabh Kandwal received consolation prize. Rap presented by Akash Sharma and Vivek Kumar Padam also won consolation prize. The team went their under the supervision of Mr. Pankaj Garg, Ms. Rupinder Kaur and Mr. Surinder Bist.

Hundreds of students from colleges from across Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh participated in the fest. The future journalists took part in a variety of contests.

Some other captivating events of the fest were radio jockeying, ad mad show and choreography.

In the morning session, Dr Om Gauri Datt Sharma-Deputy Director DD Jalandhar graced the occasion as Chief Guest, and Rajinder Mayor-Treasurer College Managing Committee as guest of honour. Eminent Journalists – Kuldeep Singh Bedi, Paramjit Singh Rangpuri, Sunil Rudra, Naresh Arora, Deepkamal Kaur, Major Singh, Surinder Pal, Rajnish Sharma, Baljit Singh Brar, Davinder Cheema, Narinder Nandan, Atul Sharma, Karambir Sandhu and Nikhil Sharma graced the occasion as Guests of Honour.
