Chandni Malhotra, MBA Student of CBS bags ‘Golden Medal’ at the World Cup of Folklore held in Bulgaria

Chandni Malhotra, an MBA student of Chitkara Business School, participated in an event conducted by European Association of Folklore Festivals (EAFF). The event World Cup of Folklore at Veliko Tarnovo in Bulgaria was a memorable feat for her as she won the “Golden Medal”. She said, “Representing India at such a platform and adding to my country’s and University’s pride through my talent, is indeed a collective effort of my parents and the University.” Chandni is pursuing her semester exchange at University of Applied Sciences, Osnabrueck, Germany.

The Main event of Musical Feasts “Euro Folk” is the No. 1 Festival in Europe for the traditional folklore arts – Stara Planina Fest “Balkan Folk” in Bulgaria. Every year about 7,000 to 15,000 musicians, singers and dancers take part in it.

Apart from participating in the grand event, Chandni visited the historical city of Veliko Tarnovo. It is a city in north central Bulgaria and the administrative centre of Veliko Tarnovo Province. Often referred to as the “City of the Tsars”, Veliko Tarnovo is located on the Yantra River and is famous as the historical capital of the Second Bulgarian Empire. Chandni was immersed in its glorious historical splendor and thanked her Alma Mater for getting a global opportunity, which she is making the most out of.
