CEED mentored startup secures 1st position in 5th ICT Startup Awards

Xovian Aerospace secured the first position at the Assocham led 5th ICT Startup Awards which was held at Taj Palace, New Delhi on May 11th, 2022. The award was received by Mr. Sumeer Walia Director, CEED (Chitkara University Centre for Entrepreneurship Education and Development) and Mentor for Xovian along with Ankit Bhateja, Co-Founder of Xovian. Hon’ble Minister for State for MSME, Sh. Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma presented the award to them. Xovian is a New Delhi-based aerospace startup that offers sustainable solutions in satellite fabrication. It also conducts educational and research-based activities to bridge the innovation gap between industries and educational institutions.

“With start-ups coming out with new revolutionary ideas India is destined to be one of the leading nations in the space exploration race,” said Ankit Bhateja. Xovian is now one of the most promising Deeptech space with a special focus on Radio Frequency Satellite Infrastructure and aerospace related components. With its recent association with mach33.aero at Bangalore (A TATA group public Private partnership CSIR-NAL), Xovian has scaled to new heights in innovation. Xovian has been mentored by Chitkara University’s Centre for Entrepreneurship Education and Development (CEED) in its formative days and has been incubated at PES, Bangalore. ASSOCHAM organised the 5th ICT Star-tup Awards & Conference under the theme Accelerating IP Readiness for India.

Sh. Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, MoS, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India honoured the top 20 ICT startups with the 5th ICT Start-ups Awards for their contribution to the ICT Sector. MSME sector was affected the most by the COVID19 pandemic. With the ECLGS initiative by PM Sh. Narendra Modi, we have tried to help the MSME sector to revive from the pandemic hit situation by providing the guarantee cover of ₹5 lakh crore. The panellists over the course of 3 technical sessions shared their experiences & discussed the role of IP & technology in supporting innovation & challenges for regional R&D institutions and start-ups.
