CCP organized industrial visits for students at Abbott Healthcare and Unichem Labs

Chitkara College of Pharmacy students went for visits to Pharmaceutical Industries Abbott Healthcare, Baddi and Unichem Labs Baddi to get a first hand exposure to Formulation manufacturing activities on industrial scale.
Abbott Healthcare, a US Multinational with its plant at various locations in India manufacturing famous brands in Gastrointestinals like Digene, Duphalac, Antiinfectives like Celex OD, ICUpen, cardiology products like Omacor, neurological products, viz., Zolfresh, Vertin, Epilexand and many more. Unichem labs produces popular brands like TG TOR EZ and Clodrel plus and Telsar 80 (Cardiology), Metride plus (Diabetes), Serta 50 (Neurology), Ampoxin 500 (Antiinfective). M Pharm and Pharm D II year students visited Abbott Healthcare, Baddi, whereas B Pharm III Sem visited Unichem Labs, Baddi. B Pharm VII Sem students visited NIPER, Mohali, a Post Graduate Pharmaceutical Sciences educational and Research institute setup by Dptt of Pharmaceuticals with funding for sophisticated Drug Discovery, Molecular Pharmacology, Biotechnology, formulation and Quality analytical instruments.
The purpose of the visits was to apprise and sensitise the students about application of theoretical concepts to industrial processes and systems flow and to make aware about advanced research and government funded facilities available in the country.
