CCP holds 5-Day National Workshop on ‘Drug Discovery, Designing and Development’

Chitkara College of Pharmacy, Chitkara University, conducted a workshop on “Drug Discovery, Designing and Development” in association with Makeintern & Ecell, IIT Kharagpur. The workshop, in which the first batch of 30 students participated, aimed to assist students to place their findings in an effective translation of pre-clinical research to humans, and introduction of new research tools, which may be needed to investigate each new drug molecule on targeted protein sites by expertise on various software such as Chimera & Pymol, Modeller, Ligand scout, Gromacs and Autodock and available bioinformatics and cheminformatics.

Collaborated by Dr. S Arora, the sessions were coordinated by Dr. Rajwinder Kaur and Ms Rashmi Arora, with Mr Jitesh Doshi, Bioinformatician and owner of Insight Bio-IT Solutions delivering the sessions; and Dr. Om Silakari, Professor, Punjabi University, Patiala; felicitating the students with Certificates. Five students were awarded Merit Certificates and are scheduled to participate in the final round to be held at IIT Kharagpur.
