C2S2 members win accolades at MUN 2016 at Landran
Proud members of C2S2 – Model United Nations Club, represented Chitkara University at the CGC Landran MUN 2016. Siddharth Sriram, club’s president, presided over the CIA committee as the president and Mokshit Sood won the high commendation award.
The duo stated that the conference was a unique experience. It made them meet students from all over the world. They got the perfect platform to speak their minds and become acquainted with diplomacy and international issues.
MUN is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate participants about current events, topics in international relations, diplomacy and the United Nations agenda. Both Siddharth and Mokshit explored their potential and were applauded for their confidence and awareness about several things.
They role-played as diplomats representing a nation or NGO in a simulated session of a committee of the United Nations, such as the Security Council or the General Assembly.
In MUN conferences, participants research a country, take on roles as diplomats, investigate international issues, debate, deliberate, consult, and then develop solutions to world problems. Both our students conducted themselves with true Chitkara spirit of standing out and adding meaning to every endeavor.
