Blood Donation Camp organised by NSS Department
The NSS Department of Chitkara University, Punjab organized a Blood Donation Camp on February 26 at the Sports Arena, Indoor Stadium. The camp was graced with the presence of Brig (Dr.) P.S. Siwach, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Chitkara University, Punjab; Dr. S.C Sharma, Registrar; Dr. Meenu Khurana, Dean, CSE; Ms. Sovia RJ Singh, Dean, School of Languages; Dr. Ashutosh Mishra, Dean, School of Mass Communication; Lt. Col. Rakesh Sharma, Director-Administration; Col C Jhamb, Director-Administration and Dr Neelam Verma, Dean, OSA and Program Coordinator, NSS.
There was tremendous participation this year from students all across the departments such as from Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Computer Applications, Chitkara College of Hospitality Management and Chitkara College of Pharmacy, with more than 1000 enthusiastic registrations.
This year a record was also hit with a high of around 500+ units of blood collected in a single day. The donors were given fruits, juice and sweets as refreshment. The blood donors were also facilitated with a certificate and a gift to appreciate their good deed.
The mega successful event was made possible with the support of Rajindra Hospital, Patiala and PGIMER, Chandigarh.
In all, the camp was a megahit, starting on the note of kindness and humility and ending on the note of satisfaction and happiness.
