Ankush Mittal’s enriching Korean experience
There are certain moments in life that get engraved deep in our memories because they are inspiring, enriching and inspirational. Ankush Mittal from mechanical engineering had a similar experience at Chung Ang University, South Korea as he spent his last semester as an exchange student.
In Ankush’s words this was the best time he ever had in his life. He said, “It was a scholarship based program and I got selected for this at the very last moment, which came as a surprise to me. In the beginning, the going was tough as there was a language barrier and food. But thanks to my Korean language course that by the end of one month I could read as well speak some basic Korean, then it started to feel more homely. And with time I got along with the food as well.”
The international office at Chung Ang University organized a number of cultural tours for all the exchange students so that they get to know the Korean culture better. One thing that hit Ankush by surprise was the student teacher relation, as it is much friendlier than India and even the social interaction between students and the teachers is very warm and friendly.
There were around 200 exchange students from different countries across the globe. It feels good that Ankush made friends with so many different people from different nations. It helped him improve his personality as well as gave a boost to his confidence. He added, “Now I can think globally also I look for further opportunities of studying abroad or doing an internship abroad. I think each and every student must have such an experience as this provides a whole different point of view towards the education and life itself.”
Ankush thanked Chitkara University for giving him this opportunity.
