Our Alumni, Amulmeet Chadha from ECE 2006-2010 starts DriveU
We take utmost pride in sharing with all of you that Amulmeet Chadha is one of the founders of DriveU. DriveU enhances the on-road commute experience by providing technology-enabled and verified drivers for a consumer’s personal vehicle.
Amulmeet did his B.Tech in Electronic and Communication in 2006 – 2010. He has worked as a Senior Product Manager with RedBus.in. What makes Amulmeet different is that he is one of the youngest Design heads in India. He has established best UX designed practices and also has designed the whole line of consumer products. He was promoted to Senior Product Manager Design for Mobile apps and web at Redbus.in.
He recognized his passion for designing in the second year of his degree and this led him to opening up a design studio, Cropple Solutions, at his house.
After two-and- half-years, he moved out to Bangalore where he joined the organization called Zipdial.com as second employee of the company. Soon he was promoted as senior UX Lead to UI/UX Team.
His efforts contributed towards his organization being featured as most promising startup of 2013 – 2014 in NextBigwhat.com. Amulmeet also joined Freecharge.com as Product Manager for Mobile and headed all landscapes for them.
Amulmeet’s DriveU now plans to get strong hold of the commutation services in Gurgaon and over 500 driver partners across India with the acquisition.
It currently has 350 drivers across Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, and New Delhi and will now add the 150 partner-drivers of CallAtHome Currently, it has 51 employees and is growing at a rate of 30–40 per cent month-on-month in revenue. In February this year, DriveU has grabbed seed investment from Unitus Seed Fund to expand to new markets and attract new customers.
Amul’s strengths are that he is a design visionary, user driven and likes to build products, which solves a problem.
A huge round of applause for Amulmeet for his enthusiasm to be more everyday and carving a niche for himself in the industry despite challenges.
