A Special NSS Camp organized for the Alpha Teachers of Chitkara College of Education
The Alpha Teachers of Chitkara College of Education participated in the 7 Days Special NSS Camp (January 23-29, 2020) organized by the NSS Department of Chitkara University, Punjab. Different workshops, expert talks and outreach activities were initiated and organized during the camp.
The students went on a field visit to RoundGlass Office, Mohali and they also attended an Expert Talk on ‘Health & Fitness’ and a session on ‘Art Therapy’. Under The Fit India Initiative, Sports Day was organized for the students. The volunteers also participated in the Republic Day celebrations.
Mr. Pramod Sharma, Coordinator from Yuvsatta (NGO) delivered an Expert Talk on ‘Rights and Dignity of Girls & Women’ and to support this, Pink Turbans were donned by the Alpha Teachers to support the Women Rights. Dr.GeetaArora from Social Substance (NGO) was invited to talk about ‘Segregation of Household Waste and Recycling of Kitchen Waste’.
The Alpha Teachers also took the initiative to promote and sensitize the school children of the adopted villages (Ram Nagar, Kalomajra and Jhansla) of Chitkara University, Punjab, on ‘Health and Hygiene & Gender Equality’ through a Muppet/Puppet Show and NukkadNatak. They even shared a presentation on ‘Career Options after 10+2’ for the Senior Secondary School students of Jhansla. On the final day, the Alpha Teachers talked about the ‘UN Sustainable Development Goals’ on ChitkaraFM107.8 to sensitize the community at large.
