National Open Theatre Fest ‘Rangrezz’ ends with a lot to reminisce

The two-day National Open Theatre Festival ‘Rangrezz’ was indeed an event filled with much to hark back to. It witnessed participation from thirty-five University and College teams from around the Country.

Rangrezz commenced at Chitkara University with Dr Madhu Chitkara, Vice-Chancellor, Chitkara University, inaugurating the event. Theatre lovers relished some amazing plays from theatre groups and street plays that gave out powerful and meaningful messages.

Dr Madhu stated that Art and Theatre were powerful messengers and if taken in a right manner, they can help tackle quiet a few menaces prevalent around us. She also encouraged the students to explore the actor in them through this platform.

Distinguished Theatre personalities Balkar Sidhu, President IPTA Chandigarh, K.N.S. Sekhon, General Secretary, IPTA Chandigarh, Dr. Sahib Singh, Actor, Director, Playwright IPTA and Sachin Sharma, RJ with 94.3 FM and an actor, was the esteemed Jury for the event.

Pawan Malhotra, renowned Bollywood and TV Actor was the “Guest of Honour” at the National Open Theatre Festival “Rangrezz” hosted with much pride and fervor at the campus.

Ikka, songwriter, rapper, and music composer came, saw and conquered as he rocked the Campus with his eclectic beats and music. The Local Train Band made everyone sway to their beats.

Chitkara University glittered and the students grooved at the twilight during the fest with Candice playing mesmerizing music at a DJ Night. Overall, the fest proved to be an actor’s delight and witnessed talent abound.
