The outline of the academic paper is very similar for most branches of science. Creating an extended outline may help structure your thoughts, especially for longer papers.
The workshop added that an empiric paper frequently follows this structure:

Title
Abstract
Introduction
Methodology
Results
Discussion
Conclusion
References
The workshop covered the essential aspects of writing a research paper covering topics such as idea generation, paper formatting, finding a good journal, mistakes to avoid while writing paper, various acceptable text formats, writing literature based papers, finding good journals for paper publications and act of plagiarism.
“I got to know where I was wrong ; is the best outcome of this workshop for me”, remarked one of the participants of the one day extensive Workshop on “The Art of Writing a Research Paper” by Dr. Namrata Sandhu, Associate Professor of Finance and Ethics at Chitkara Business School.
The workshop was informative not only for the students but also for professionals.
