11 Students from CBS & CIET Makes it to Finals at Progressive Punjab Investor Summit 2015
Chitkara University Centre for Entrepreneurship Education make their dreams turn into reality.
About 11 students from Chitkara Business School and Chitkara School of Mechanical Engineering made it to the mega finals of SACC ISB – Progressive Punjab. They are among 17 odd teams to qualify for the mega finals at Indian School of Business. Today they are pitching their business ideas in front of the investors’ jury.
Progressive Punjab Investor Summit 2015 is writing a new chapter to promote entrepreneurship amongst Startup Savvy Youths by providing them an international platform to present their innovative ideas before the icons of industry so that they can take shape a into futuristic ground breaking venture of world. And it is a feat altogether to get selected for being a part of this.
Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal has initiated this endeavour to provide a forum to the enterprising budding youth, of which Chitkara students are a part of, as he feels that start savvy youth and our industrial icons can jointly lay the firm foundation of a novel dream.
The concept of the event was to pitch your idea for starting a business plan which would be then funded by the investors on the last day and to encourage youth towards entrepreneurship. Everyone was welcomed to pitch their ideas for a minute on stage, and then out of 50 ideas on basis of voting 16 ideas was selected.This team came up with a cervical cancer screening kit and made it to top 16 selected ideas. The kit is supposed to be used once in a year, and was accepted by a large audience.
Grand Finale of the event was at Indian Business School, Mohali, where investors came from PAN India. The team won the 1st Position in the competition and were given a co-working space in IT Park and bandwidth for a year along with the investors sponsoring some amount.
