Lt Colonel (Dr.) Rakesh Sharma brings a wealth of leadership experience from his distinguished 20-year career in the Indian Army’s Corps of Engineers. A seasoned professional, he has undertaken critical combat engineering tasks, habitat construction, and counter-insurgency operations in Jammu and Kashmir. His tenure with the Military Engineering Services as a Garrison Engineer further honed his expertise in infrastructure management, overseeing vital electrical and water supply systems.

An alumnus of St. Joseph’s Bangalore (B.Sc. Electronics), Jawaharlal Nehru University (B.Tech. Electrical Engineering), and Manipal University (MBA in HRM), Dr. Sharma also holds a Ph.D. in Management from Chitkara University. Since joining the University in 2013, his visionary leadership has played a pivotal role in its growth, fostering academic excellence and institutional development. He has been deeply involved in student welfare, campus activities, and ensuring a secure and supportive environment for students.
Beyond his professional endeavours, he is an avid marathon runner and an enthusiastic participant in cultural and sports activities, embodying a spirit of discipline and dynamism.
