About Us
Chitkara Happiness Centre
The Chitkara Happiness Centre stands as a beacon of well-being, providing a nurturing and supportive environment where individuals can explore and enhance their overall wellness. Rooted in the principles of positive psychology and the renowned PERMA well-being model, the centre offers an array of programs, workshops, and resources designed to cultivate happiness, resilience, and personal growth.
Our dedicated team empowers individuals to develop self-awareness, build positive relationships, and effectively manage stress. Through a diverse range of happiness courses and sessions, we aim to instill in our students a profound understanding of the significance of well-being and happiness in life. Recognizing that both joy and sorrow are natural aspects of life, the centre encourages the choice of happiness and equips students with the tools to embrace life's challenges with grace.
At the heart of our philosophy lies the belief that flexibility is key to happiness, and we work diligently to help students nurture this choice. The HH Dalai Lama Centre for Happiness is not just an institution; it is a sanctuary where every being is enriched with joy, knowledge, optimism, success, and love. Our mission is to empower students with knowledge and foster their creativity, enabling them to find happiness while overcoming obstacles in society. While traditional education prepares students for their future careers, our institution of happiness prepares them for life, ensuring they embark on their journeys with resilience, compassion, and a profound sense of well-being.
Objectives of Chitkara Happiness Centre
- To enhance the personal characteristics of students by developing the traits of Mindfulness, Emotional Intelligence, and Resilience.
- Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment that supports personal growth and fosters positive relationships.
- To improve the overall well-being of students by using the PERMA Model to evaluate their happiness levels and implementing evidence-based interventions to enhance each PERMA component.

PERMA Model Interventions
At our Happiness Centre, we adhere to the PERMA Model of wellbeing, focusing on Positive emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishment. We incorporate various interventions daily, aligning with the PERMA principles. Special days such as Gratitude Day, Affirmation Day, Appreciation Day, Visualization Day and Mindful Day are celebrated to reinforce these positive aspects in our students' lives.
Happiness Videos
We enrich our students' understanding of happiness and self-growth by screening informative videos at our centre. These videos provide valuable insights and inspiration, fostering a positive mindset and encouraging personal development.
Book Reviews
Book reviews are an integral part of our daily activities. Through these sessions, students engage in intellectual discussions, sharing their perspectives on the books they read. This encourages a culture of reading and critical thinking, contributing to their personal and intellectual growth.
Meditation Sessions
Daily meditation sessions provide a calming and introspective space for our students. Guided by experienced instructors, these sessions help students cultivate mindfulness, manage stress, and promote emotional well-being.
Strategic PERMA Meetings
Regular, purposeful meetings are conducted to support the students' growth journey. These meetings address individual needs, fostering a sense of belonging and providing a platform for students to express themselves freely.
