George Brown College and Chitkara University offer joint program in Hotel Management to provide Indian students with dual credentials – graduates will earn both a Diploma from George Brown College and an accredited 3-Year Bachelor’s Degree from Chitkara University. Under this program, students will study for two years at Chitkara University and then complete their final year at the George Brown College campus in Toronto, with the option available to students who qualify, to join a post-graduation work program of up to one year in Canada.
UNIQUE FEATURES
Passed Class XII exam in any stream with at least 50% aggregate and 50% in Maths and English respectively in class X. Successful completion of an admission interview. Achievement of a minimum score of 6 bands on the IELTS English proficiency test by the end of Semester 3 of the program.

From front desk to finance, this comprehensive program will teach you all aspects of hotel management. You will learn to work in and manage all the areas of a full-service hotel, including rooms, food and beverage, culinary, marketing and sales, conferences and catering. This program includes a unique post-graduation work term within Canada; you will also earn valuable industry training in wine tasting, responsible alcohol service (Smart-Serve) and food safety and sanitation.
With 32,000 hotel rooms in Toronto — and counting – employment opportunities abound for Hotel Management graduates. You can also find employment in restaurants, luxury retirement homes, cruise ships, convention centres, entertainment facilities, clubs, bed and breakfast facilities, spas, catering and conference services. Many Hotel Management graduates are now in supervisory and management positions in major hotels, while some have reached high-level corporate positions in large hotel chains. Job descriptions include:
Front Office and Reception — The front office processes reservations, registers guests, assigns rooms, handles complaints and information.
Sales – The salesperson visits local and out-of-town business executives, advising on guest rooms, banquet halls and seminar rooms.
Beverage/Banquet Manager — Food and Beverage and Banquet managers supervise all preparation and food and beverage staff, ensuring high standards of service.
Accounting — The food and beverage controller compiles cost and profit statistics, prices and menus, forecasts business trends and reports.
