Workshop on Creating Formatted Technical Documents using LaTeX

As part of CURIN’s mandate to provide conducive environment for healthy and ethical research practices, we are conducting “Workshop on Creating Formatted Technical Documents using LaTeX” on March 12-13, Saturday and Sunday. Topics to be covered during the workshop include:

Day 1

Session-I

• Structured Document: Definition, Draft and Amendments

Session – II

• Understanding TeXstudio, Hands-on session on Creating Document and Creating Lists
• Composition of Research Papers, Dissertations and Thesis. Writing Abstract, Summary and drafting quality Research

Documents
Session –III

• Hands-on session to write abstract and summary of research documents followed by presentations
• Question answers and Discussion

Day 2

Session-I

• Handling Bibliographic Databases

Session – II

• Understanding JabRef, Building Database by Manual Entry, Import Bibliographic Database, Adding database using search through various databases

Session –III

• Attaching pdf files to entries, Searching Database, Retrieving References in a Database, Working with BibTeX and Natbib
• Reference Management of Thesis/Research Papers
