Faculty development workshop

A faculty development workshop will be organized by Department of Mathematics, Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh, on Analytical and Numerical Methods using C Language.

Numerical analysis is concerned with the accurate and efficient evaluation of numerical expression, especially on computer with floating point arithmetic. Numerical analysis is the area mathematics and computer science that creates, analysis and implements algorithms for solving numerical, the problems of continuous mathematics. Such problems originate generally from real-world application of natural sciences, engineering, medicine and business.

About the workshop:

We emphasize that this workshop addresses not just numerical methods but also the natural phenomena and engineering processes.

The course uses a combination of theoretical sessions with the practical computer demonstration and exercises to give delegates hands-on experience.

Workshop objectives

-Developing a computer understanding of numerical methods with C and C++.
-Emphasis on evaluating need of conjoining computer with mathematics.
-Thorough explanation of concepts of soft computing in mathematics.
-The knowledge of application oriented numerical methods/ analysis.

Registration for the workshop

Registration fee per participant is Rs 1000. Registration has to be done by June 25, 2013. Fee is to be paid via DD favouring ‘Chitkara University’ payable at Chandigarh.
