Faculty Development Program on Modelling & Simulation of Drones

To strengthen the professional development of its faculty members, the Dept. of Mechatronics Engineering, Chitkara University, Punjab; is organising a National-level Faculty Development Program on ‘Modelling & Simulation of Drones’ starting December 23, 2019.

Classroom interactions and hands-on Practice Sessions will form an essential part of the educational pedagogy in fostering knowledge and professional skills of faculty in the subject area. Major areas covered during Classroom Interactions will include, Components of Drones; Basics of Arduino, Python and SciPy; Kinematics and dynamics of quadrotor; Quadrotor equation of motion; State estimation and IMU fundamentals; State-space modelling Design of PID controller; Modelling & simulation of quadcopter; Trajectory planning; and Machine Vision. Hands-on Practice Sessions will be conducted on Sensor integration with controller Design of IMU using MPU6050; Simulation using SciPy and Python; Machine Vision using OpenCV; Assembly of different components of drone; and Piloting exercise.
