Chitkara University has collaborated with Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) to offer this strategically designed 4-Year B.E. in Automobile Engineering in view of Government of India incentivising the adoption of EV and HEV and the resultant need for professionals who can handle these emerging technologies.

- – 2.5 years on campus
- – 1.5 years at ARAI, Pune
Internship Opportunity
Students must complete a one-year project with ARAI or an automobile company in the final year.

XEligibility
Candidates must qualify one of the two sets of criteria given below to be eligible for admission.
- Option 1:Passed XII with a minimum aggregate of 60% or secures 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; appeared in JEE Main-2025 (January/April); and, passed 10+2 examination in 2024 or appearing in 2025. The admission shall be made on the All India Rank (AIR) of JEE Main-2025.
- Option 2:Passed XII with a minimum aggregate of 70% or secured 70% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; and, passed 10+2 examination in 2024 or appearing in 2025.
B.E. in Automobile Engineering
The automobile industry is rapidly shifting towards electric vehicles (EV), set to dominate the market in the next two decades. This course addresses these developments, emphasizing both the electrical and mechanical sides of vehicle design to equip graduates for the future. It provides the skills needed in the evolving automobile industry, focusing on Electric Vehicles (EV) and Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV).
Students will learn EV and HEV fundamentals in the first two and a half years at Chitkara University. Afterward, they will spend one and a half years at ARAI Academy, Pune, gaining hands-on experience with the latest technologies. The final two semesters will be dedicated to project work, either in the automobile industry or at ARAI Academy.
Courses combine lectures, tutorials, group work, and workshops, encouraging independent study to deepen students’ knowledge. This approach develops essential skills in automotive engineering, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for careers in the dynamic automotive industry.

Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), established in 1966, is the leading automotive R&D organisation of the country set up by the Automotive Industry with the Government of India. ARAI is a testing and certification agency notified by the Government of India under Rule 126 of Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.
