Chitkara Business School has been placed 43rd among ‘Top B-schools – Private’; and 63rd among ‘Top B-schools – Overall’ (Private & Government); in Rankings of India’s Top MBA Colleges by BW Businessworld, for the Year 2019.
Chitkara Business School was ranked against parameters – Leadership 11.8/15, Knowledge Creation 17.3/25, Institutional Capabilities 18.7/25, Transition from Knowledge force to workforce 23.8/30, Finance 3.8/5. The total score was 75.4.
The survey to rank top B-schools in the country was conducted by the BW Education Research team. B-schools were measured against 10 broad parameters and 50 sub-parameters. The rankings were based on objective data sourced from B-schools directly or from secondary sources, and a perceptual survey conducted among industry and faculty. The findings were processed by the BW research team and run past the BW editorial team.
Invitations were sent to 700 schools to participate in the survey, of which 150 participated. The programmes which lacked legal validity weren’t considered for the ranking. The perceptual survey was carried out with some 1,500 industry leaders and B-school faculty members who were asked to rate the B-schools they were familiar with on a ten-point scale. The rating of their institutes was not considered.
The extensive ranking methodology considered core areas, including, Leadership – leadership qualities of the institute’s CEO / director and the governance of the institute; Faculty Enhancement Programmes – environment in the institute conducive for the growth of faculty, their training, measures taken by the institute to enable faculty to do research; Admission Process – stringent selection process of students; Curriculum & Pedagogy – updated curriculum, effective teaching, learning process, innovations in pedagogy; Industry Linkages – strong are the linkages with the industry, joint research projects undertaken with the industry by faculty, industry exposure given to students; Research – conducive is the environment for faculty to do research, publications in A, B, C grade journals; Infrastructure – institute building, labs, IT-enabled classrooms, library, electronic databases, hostels, etc; Placements – proportion of total students getting placed, average salaries, types of companies visiting the campus; Global Interface – measures taken by the institute to promote global outlook; and RoI – facilities/quality of education at par with the fee charged.
