CCE in collaboration with PSCST organised National Environment Awareness Campaign sponsored by MoEF
A Field visit to the Herbal Garden was organised under the “National Awareness Campaign for Combating Desertification, Land Degradation and Drought on 20th January 2017 in collaboration with Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, Chandigarh, sponsored by Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India. This was conducted under the Ed module, an issue of Conservation and Environment Regeneration, a field visit was organised on January 20, 2017, to the “Herbal Garden” of Government Senior Secondary school, Dhanas. The Alpha teachers were directed by Mr. Ramesh Kumar, Senior Lecturer of Political Science. They were made aware about the herbs ranging from Kalamegh to Aloe vera. The garden was very well maintained and even the rarest of the herb were found there.
Chitkara College of Education of Women, Rajpura believes in the vigour of practical knowledge; that the education shouldn’t be confined within the four walls of a classroom. Lastly, a vermicompost plant was shown which is an eco-friendly way of preparing manure. The learning of the day was that rather than using the chemical products, which are easily available in the market, we should use these kinds of herbs and make our life healthier and stay fit.
