CBS hosts National Symposium on “Redesigning Supply Chain: Resilient and Sustainable”

Chitkara Business School organized a two-day National Symposium on “Redesigning Supply Chain: Resilient and Sustainable” from April 15th, 2022 to April 16th, 2022 and provided a forum for industry professionals to share ideas and collaborate on emerging supply chain trends. It was a platform for Academicians, Research Scholars, Students, Industry Professionals, and Practitioners to gain insights into innovative supply chain practises, contribute to the existing body of knowledge in logistics and fulfilment, and strengthen academia-industry interface and networking opportunities. Through panel discussions and question sessions, eminent industry experts educated the target audience.

The Chief Guest for the event was V.Kalyana Ram, CMD, CONCOR and the Keynote Speaker and the Guest of Honour was Deven Pabaru, CEO, Stellar Fulfilment Solutions, Mumbai. The Symposium included two panel discussions from Industry experts and a presentation contest for students and scholars at national level. The panel included Anurag Shandliya, Head Operations, Noida International Airport; Dr. LR Thapar, HTPL, New Delhi; Gurmeet Singh, MD, Johnson Controls Hitachi Airconditioning India Ltd; Manoj Alhawat, Assistant Vice President, Supply Chain Management, Max Healthcare; Dr. Aditya Gupta, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Supply Chain Management Centre, IIM, Bangalore; Kapil Nayar, Zonal Head-Hub & Transport, Reliance Retail; Samrat Sehgal, Head-SCM, Dabur India Ltd.;Vijay Wadhwani, AVP- Supply Chain, Relaxo Footware Ltd and Sanjeev Sharma, AVP – Cargo Sales, Spiceject Airlines Pvt Ltd.

The Presentation themes were “Innovation in Supply Chain : Managing Disruptions” and “Logistics & Fulfilment: Issues and Challenges”. Around 45 teams participated in the presentation competition. The first position was secured by Shubhi Bansal, an engineering student from IIT Indore. Mahesh Kinger and Prashant Joshi, students of MBA- Supply Chain Management from Chitkara Business School secured the second position and Swarnendu Roy, a Research Scholar from GD Goenka University secured the third position. Harreet Kaur, Kirandeep and Pragya, B.Com students from Chitkara Business School bagged the Consolation prize. The media partner for the Symposium for Logistics Insider.
Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro Chancellor Chitkara University Punjab delivered a Vote of Thanks on the second day and felicitated all the panellists on 16th April 2022. She also distributed prizes to all the winners of the presentation contest. Industry Panellists also inaugurated Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Supply Chain at Chitkara University, Punjab during the Symposium.

Companies face difficulty controlling interruptions in today’s turbulent market, necessitating the development of a resilient and sustainable supply chain. To mitigate the risk posed by a sudden shift in customer preferences, logistics experts must place a greater emphasis on incorporating sustainability goals and reformulating new logistics methods and models.
