Chitkara students declared ‘Overall Winners’ at Hospitality Olympics 2019

We are elated to share that Semester VI students from Chitkara School of Hospitality, were declared Overall Winners at the Hospitality Olympics 2019 organised at The Institute of Hotel Management, PCTE Group of Institutes, Ludhiana. Besides being adjudged as the Overall Winners, Chitkara University students also won major Top Positions in various events.

The mega event, Hospitality Olympics 2019, included various events like Young Master Chef Competition, Mocktail Competition ‘Lake of Liquids’, ‘Fold the Unfold’, Remember the Rose, The Dust Bunny Competition, The Globetrotter, and Trayrathon. 54 teams from 12 institutes participated in the event. Students explored Indian and Chinese cuisines in a unique way.

The events were held in various sections of college. In the Kitchen Competition, Chitkara University students (Sahil Ahuja, Prashant Nanda, Sahil Kulgod) bagged the second prize. In Globetrotter, the first position was secured by Harsukhjot Singh; the second position by Tushar Goel and third position by Aman Bhardwaj. In Fold the Unfold Competition, the first prize went to Tushar Goel & Payal Singh, followed by Kanupriya & Harsukhjot Singh who were placed second. In Trayrathon, students Aman Bhardwaj bagged the third prize. Finally, in the ‘Lake of Liquid’ competition, Mohit Chawla & Manas Dhingra grabbed the first position. Judges present were Chef Vikas Grover, Executive Chef, Park Plaza, Ludhiana; Celebrity Chef Nellu Kaura; Chef Sudhanshu Rajhans, CEO, R2P; Balwinder Jangra, Owner, Moti Mahal, Ludhiana; Chef Varinder Rana, Treasurer – Five Rivers Association; and Ajay Bhatt, Training Manager, Park Plaza, Ludhiana. The mega event was organised to showcase the diverse cuisines of the world and how Chinese and Indian cuisine can be showcased in completely different ways.
