Dr Sangeeta Pant delivers talk on ‘Content and Language Integrated Learning Methodology’ for Language Teachers

An informative talk was delivered by Dr. Sangeeta Pant, Dean Chitkara College of Education, Chitkara University, on “Content & Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) Methodology: Focus on Comprehension Strategies and Activities, and Language Skill Enhancement through poetry & prose”.

The five-day Orientation Program for Third Language Teachers was organised by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti for Language Teachers of Rajasthan, Haryana & Delhi state. Around 48 language teachers of Navodaya Vidyalaya in the Jaipur region participated in this workshop at Chandigarh.

Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) has become the umbrella term describing both learning another (content) subject such as physics or geography through the medium of a foreign language and learning a foreign language by studying a content-based subject. CLIL draws on the lexical approach, encouraging learners to notice language while reading.
