Three-year Bachelor of Computer Applications Program jointly conducted by George Brown College and Chitkara University.

Obtain a Canadian advanced diploma in computer systems technology, and an accredited Indian bachelor’s degree in computer applications at affordable fees. George Brown College (GBC) and Chitkara University (CU) have been offering the dual-credentials, three-year Computer Systems Technology – Bachelor of Computer Applications Program since 2006.

About the Program

This three-year Program, spread over six semesters, is unique for its intensive focus on wireless radio frequency (RF) technology for data communications. George Brown’s expertise in this field is confirmed by the College’s designation as a Cisco Regional Academy for Wireless Networking and Security. However, that is not all that makes this Program a great choice.

Students will be involved in real-world projects for one or two days a week with our industry partners, and will receive adequate exposure in making proposals, working in teams to plan projects, set schedules and achieve goals. In past years, our students have helped develop IT solutions for hospitals, large corporations and major wireless telecommunications providers. This Program covers a variety of areas in wireless data communications including wireless local area networks, broadband communications (including WiMAX & IEEE 802.16) and narrowband cellular communications. Students are also introduced to voice network technologies and voice over internet protocol (VOIP) systems.

George Brown’s Computer Systems Technology Program truly reflects the ever-changing technical environment within wireless communications. Students enrolled in this Program gain valuable skills across several crucial areas. The combination of attaining and applying knowledge and skills through practical project placement within a diverse selection of technical companies is indispensable. This unique opportunity is beneficial to both the graduating student in their endeavour to secure entry-level positions and the potential employer by ensuring current exposure to the industry environment.

Career Paths

Graduates of this Program will launch their careers as qualified personnel for a variety of positions in diverse industries. They may pursue positions such as systems administrator, systems technologist, computer support services, training and applications support etc. Their career will lead them to work within a broad range of organizations that might include specialization in:
