Prof. Surjit Bais at Global Enrichment and Symposium, Malaysia

Prof. Surjit Bais, Principal, Chitkara School of Planning & Architecture represented Chitkara University at the Global Enrichment and Symposium held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The conference was vital in understanding various aspects related to architecture and education. The prime aim of the conference was to:

• To get introduced to the system of architecture education and practice in Malaysia
• To understand architectural innovations in Malaysia
• To evaluate opportunities of academic partnerships in area of faculty and student exchange, collaboration in research and development
• To discuss, share and exchange ideas on “Architectural Education Road Map 2020” (A Symposium conducted by NIASA and University of Malay)
• To understand Malaysia as destination for International Study Tours for students of architecture and practicing architects

For ensuring a better understanding of Malaysia, there were visits organized by the university to Limkokwing Universit, an official site visit to Putrajaya, land mark architectural site visits of Kuala Lumpur and meeting with Board members of Council Of Architecture (Malaysia). The event proved useful for our faculty members as well as others who were a part of the symposium.
